Named in honour of Joey Moss, whose life and legacy continue to inspire us, this home carries forward his belief that everyone deserves to live with joy, purpose, and connection. Joey was a beloved part of the Winnifred Stewart community, and his spirit will always be a part of this home.
Joey’s Home Mindful Hearts Memory Care Centre is a warm, inclusive home created for people with diverse abilities who are living with dementia.
Once complete, it will offer 17 supportive living spaces designed specifically for individuals who need memory care. Rooted in Mindful Hearts, a Winnifred Stewart approach, this home will offer personalized routines and adaptive programming that help people feel safe, calm, and connected.

The original Joey’s Home, built in 2007, included 8 supportive living spaces on the main level, 4 independent living apartments upstairs, and office space in the basement. To meet growing needs, the entire space is being reimagined into a fully dedicated memory care home.
Since launching Mindful Hearts, a Winnifred Stewart approach, in 2011, we’ve been working toward creating our first supportive living home specifically designed for people with diverse abilities who are experiencing dementia.
This transformation has been made possible thanks to the generosity of our donors and the support of our community—including a major grant from the Government of Alberta to help complete the renovations.
As people with diverse abilities grow older, the need for meaningful dementia care continues to grow with them. Joey’s Home is our response—a place where comfort, dignity, and belonging come first.
