Empties to WINN

Empties to Winn is a social enterprise created in 2006 with a simple proposition: provide a valuable service in exchange for our donors’ support. We provide scheduled, year-round pickups to your doorstep or business, collect your empties, and write you a tax receipt for the estimated value of your donation.

We started in a single Edmonton neighbourhood and today we operate in over 375 neighbourhoods in Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, Leduc, Fort Saskatchewan, and Beaumont. We are proud to have over 13,000 contributors spanning across households, businesses, condos, and schools.

All proceeds support Winnifred Stewart through which we provide support to nearly 200 individuals with diverse abilities, assisting them with meeting their potential and having full lives in an inclusive, supportive community. WS provides accommodation for over 70 people through independent and supported living arrangements, including specialized homes for our individuals who have dementia or Alzheimer’s. WS also provides a wide range of day programs, employment, and volunteer supports.
